POLICE RECOVER STOLEN PATIO ITEMS AND TRUCK — USED TO HAUL THEM AWAY

Crossville Police recovered stolen items from a local store along with a possible stolen truck in which the items were hauled away in. An employee of Kroger reported that two men, one possibly Hispanic, the other an older man, pulled up in front of the store in a gray Nissan truck, and loaded a box containing a swing set into the truck bed. The vehicle was observed traveling west on Highway 70 West. City units were unable to locate the truck, but later, the employee again contacted police and said that he observed the truck parked at a residence on Poplar Drive. Officers found the vehicle in question with the box and an additional patio umbrella also from Kroger. The truck’s front driver’s side window had been busted and it appeared that the ignition had been tampered with. The vehicle’s registration also did not match the address. The items were returned to the store and the truck was hauled off by a wrecker service. The investigation is ongoing.
