POLICE RELEASE REPORT OF INCIDENT RESULTING IN SOFT LOCKDOWN OF STONE ELEMENTARY
The Crossville Police Department released a report today of an incident that led to the soft lockdown of Stone Elementary School last Friday. Officers responded that morning to the area of Village Lane for a report of a person who was stabbed. Police found the victim, William Rollins, and called for medical assistance. He was flown by helicopter to U.T. Medical Center for treatment. A warrant was taken out against the alleged assailant, 21-year-old Carolyn Marie Williams, for aggravated assault. Williams fled the scene on foot and officers covered the area looking for her. That resulted in Stone Elementary School being placed under a soft lockdown as a precaution from late Friday morning until the end of the day. Williams was arrested Saturday, taken to the Cumberland County jail and initially placed under $10,000 bond. She is scheduled to make her first court appearance September 9, 2019.
