POLICE REPORT: CAUSE OF EMPTY BUSINESS BUILDING FIRE IN CROSSVILLE “PROBABLE ARSON”

A Crossville police report released late this morning shows an empty business fire Saturday next to Big John’s BBQ on Highway 70 East is suspicious in nature and “possibly arson.” Crossville Fire Deputy Chief Chris South told 105.7 News they arrived to see flames coming from the roof. Crews put out the blaze and remained on the scene for nearly 3 hours. Officials say the inside of the structure sustained major damage. The building was up for sale. No injuries were reported. The report released this morning states officers took a statement from a witness who informed them of suspicious activity at the building the day before the fire.
