POLICE REPORT: FATHER BEAT 5-YEAR-OLD AUTISTIC SON TO DEATH

According to police documents released today in Dickson County, Joseph Ray Daniels allegedly struck his 5-year old son, Joe Clyde Daniels, repeatedly until the boy died. It says Daniels “struck the boy in the body, upper torso, head, and face with closed fist until his son was deceased” at their residence on Ganers Creek Road. “Daniels then placed the body of his son in the trunk of his car and disposed of the body in a remote, rural area.” Joseph Ray Daniels was arrested early Saturday morning for criminal homicide. Investigators say he confessed to killing his little boy. He remains in the Dickson County jail on suicide watch. His bond was set at $1 million. The body of Joe Clyde Daniels has not yet been found, despite an intense search in woods and ponds near the home. Authorities say the father has not revealed where he allegedly left the body of his son.
