POLICE RESPOND TO BREAKING AND ENTERING ATTEMPT

On Saturday, Crossville Police units were dispatched to Eagle Mart on us 70 East in response to a breaking-and-entering attempt and vandalism report. Upon arriving Officer Jeremy Beard made contact with an employee who stated that he went to work on Saturday at around 6:00 a.m. and discovered the drive-thru window to be busted out with a rock next to a pile of broken glass.
The employee took Officer Beard inside to review the video footage and saw two males dressed in black clothing with masks come up to the drive-thru window at around 2:30 a.m. and attempt to pry open the window. After watching the males struggle with the window, Officer Beard saw them leave the view of the camera and come back carrying a softball-sized rock. The rock was thrown at the window and afterward, the males fled the scene behind the building towards Highway 70 East at around 2:47 a.m.
Video footage of the event is unable to be acquired and there are no known suspects at the time. Photos of the scene were placed into digital evidence at the Crossville police department.
