A spokesman from Tennessee Highway Patrol has released preliminary details of a crash Wednesday morning, April 24, on Highway 68 in Grassy Cove.

Apparently, 64-year-old motorcyclist William M. Evans of Port Charlotte, Florida, was headed southbound in the area of Cox Valley Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a guardrail. Evans was airlifted to U.T. Medical Center.

Evans has been discharged from the hospital. There’s no word as to whether speed was a factor in the crash.
