A Cumberland County murder suspect appeared in general sessions court today for a  preliminary hearing. Authorities say 38-year-old Thomas Mack Arnold, Sr. stands accused of the fatal shooting of 63-year-old Billy Ray Jones at a residence on Christian Road in September 2020. After the hearing was completed today, the judge bound the case over to criminal court with a first appearance for Arnold scheduled for January 15, 2020. The judge also ruled to keep Arnold’s bond at $2 million dollars.
