PROPOSED UT TUITION INCREASE FOR 2017-18 LOWEST IN YEARS
It appears that the proposed tuition for the University of Tennessee’s 2017-18 school year would be the lowest since 1984. School Trustees say in-state tuition would rise 1.8 percent in the proposed plan and there would be no increase in out-of-state tuition. That would amount to $11.4 million increase in school revenue with undergraduate tuition at $11,110. That’s without fees. A subcommittee of the school’s Board plan to meet Tuesday with a meeting of the full board planned for next week. Last year’s tuition increase was 2.2 percent, which was also touted as the lowest increase in more than 30 years.
