PUTNAM COUNTY FIRE RESULTS IN TOTAL LOSS

From the Putnam County Fire Department:
Putnam County, TN — At approximately 6:30 p.m. last night, the Putnam County Fire Department was dispatched to the 16000 block of Buffalo Valley Road in response to a reported residential structure fire.
The initial caller reported heavy smoke coming from the second floor. Upon arrival, Putnam County EMS observed heavy fire showing from the roof of the structure.
Fire crews arrived shortly thereafter and launched an aggressive attack to contain and extinguish the blaze. Efforts were made from both the exterior and interior of the structure.
Due to the advanced stage of the fire, limited water sources, and the home’s distance from a staffed fire station, the structure sustained significant damage and is considered a total loss.
No injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene for approximately five hours to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and to complete overhaul operations.
