PUTNAM COUNTY HOME FIRE RESULTS IN TOTAL LOSS
Putnam County, TN – At approximately 8:15 P.M. yesterday, Putnam County Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on E. Whitehall Road.
Upon arrival crews found a single-story residence with partial basement, with heavy fire showing from the rear of the structure. A crew made an exterior attack on the rear and a crew made entry through the front door. Due to deteriorating conditions and a heavy fire load in the attic space, the interior crew was quickly pulled after being unable to gain access to the fire. As crews transitioned to a full exterior attack, the structural components of the structure began to fail, causing partial collapse of the roof into the structure.
Crews worked tirelessly for 6 hours battling the fire; due to water supply issues, fire load and construction of the residence it is a total loss.
No injuries were reported, and all residents were able to successfully exit the residence.
Putnam County Fire responded with 10 apparatus and over 20 personnel. Putnam County EMS provided medical coverage and rehabilitation to fire crews; Putnam County Sheriffs Office provided traffic control as
E. Whitehall Road was severely impacted for the duration of the fire.
