PUTNAM COUNTY HOUSE FIRE CLAIMS LIFE

Putnam County officials say a 47-year-old female passed away in a house blaze on Big Orange Drive Wednesday. She was pulled from the home by her husband after he returned to the residence and found it full of smoke. Efforts to revive her using CPR failed. She was home alone at the time with three cats, who also died in the fire. The residence sustained significant damage to the kitchen and living room areas but is still standing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the identity of the victim was not immediately released.
