PUTNAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO HILHAM ROAD GARAGE FIRE

From the Putnam County Fire Department:
At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, the Putnam County Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 3600 block of Hilham Road.
Upon arrival, crews discovered a 62-foot by 30-foot detached garage located behind a residence heavily involved in fire. Firefighters initiated a rapid offensive attack to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. Crews operated under extreme heat conditions and worked for approximately three hours before the scene was deemed safe.
Putnam County EMS was on scene to provide medical support and firefighter rehabilitation. No injuries were reported. The garage sustained significant damage, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Chief Jeff Hicks expressed his appreciation to Cookeville Battalion Chief James Clouse for his assistance during the response.
“Strong working relationships between our departments are vital. When agencies come together and support one another, it makes Putnam County a safer place for everyone,” Chief Hicks said.
