PUTNAM KID CHARGED BY DEPUTIES; EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS FOUND IN HOME
From the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office:
On Monday, January 6th, 2025, a concerned citizen notified a PCSO Deputy reporting information regarding a juvenile that attends Cookeville High School, that is currently suspended for being in possession of a THC vaping device (unrelated to this event). Upon receiving this information, PCSO School Resource Officers and Detectives immediately responded and began to investigate the complaint.
Upon further investigation of the juvenile’s home, the same juvenile was found to be in possession of components that would be capable of producing an explosive device that could cause harm to the public.PCSO then requested the assistance of the THP Special Operations Unit to aid with the handling of the explosive components.
After consulting with the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the juvenile was charged with T.C.A 39-14-702 Possession of Explosive Components and was given a court date.
