RAIN AND A LITTLE SNOW

A chance of rain will develop during the day Wednesday with the highest chances in the afternoon. We expected to mix with and change to light Snow Wednesday night but accumulations look small. Temperatures will drop into the 20s Wednesday night so there could be a few slick spots developing. Thursday is going to be a cold day with clearing Skies, the high temperature only in the 30s. Rain chances return this weekend but it will be warmer with highs in the upper 40s near 50.

We have a full moon coming up Thursday night but it will also appear full the night after to the average stargazer. This one is known as the Wolf Moon. Mars is the only bright evening planet out during the dark of night, Mars is high in the sky at dusk to the southwest and sets in the west about midnight.

I have been asked why weathervanes have a rooster on them? It began in the 9th century when Pope Nicholas decreed that all churches display the rooster on their steeples as a symbol of Peter’s betrayal of Jesus.
