RANDOLPH WITH WHITE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HONORED

Every year, the National Institute for Jail Operations (NIJO) recognizes individuals and agencies in the nation at the JAILCON Regional Awards Ceremony held during JAILCON Conferences in the central, southern, and western regions.

This year, Captain Will Randolph with the White County Sheriff’s Office received a nomination for the Dedication to Excellence Award for the southern region.

It goes to a detention officer, supervisor, or administrator going above and beyond normal expectations by working extra hours with extra efforts to ensure the safety and security of staff members, inmates, and the general public.

In 2022, Captain Randolph attended crisis intervention training. He is also the crisis team leader inside the jail.

Over the past several years, county jails across the state have become mental health treatment facilities.

With the approval of Sheriff Steve Page, in March of this year, Captain Randolph applied for a grant that would allow the White County Jail to have mental health treatment for inmates inside the jail.

The grant awarded to White County was for $578,328.

This grant allows White County Jail to partner with the South Central Tennessee Workforce Alliance (SCTWA) to bring this much-needed treatment to the inmate population.

Sheriff Page and Major Benton congratulate Captain Randolph on receiving the award and thanks him for his dedication, determination, and hard work.
