REPEAT D.U.I. OFFENDER ARRESTED NEAR STONE ELEMENTARY

On October 1, 2025, at approximately 6:30 PM, Deputy Benjamin Broderdorf of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was monitoring traffic on Cook Road near Stone Elementary School in Crossville, Tennessee, when a shirtless male, later identified as Timothy Dana Crass, age 45, approached his patrol vehicle at high speed on a white Suzuki four-wheeler without a license plate.
Crass abruptly stopped, removed the keys, and stepped off the vehicle, admitting to Deputy Broderdorf that he had been drinking and working on his four-wheeler, and he did not want to engage in a chase that could endanger others. The deputy observed signs of impairment, including disjointed speech, glazed eyes, and heavy sweating, despite mild weather. Crass refused to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.
Two Crossville City officers arrived, noting multiple reports of a four-wheeler being driven recklessly on Cook Road and identifying Crass as the driver. Based on these observations, his admission of drinking, and his refusal to perform sobriety tests, Crass was arrested for driving under the influence.
At the jail, it was discovered that Crass had a history of prior bookings for DUI and public intoxication, indicating a pattern of such behavior. Two tubes of Crass’s blood were collected as evidence.
Notably, Crass was also arrested last year in November for a similar incident involving intoxication and possession of firearms.
He is scheduled to appear in court on October 27, 2025, for the current DUI charge.
