Eight high school football teams in our area participated last night in the TSSAA state high school football championship quarterfinals. When the games were finished, only four teams remained in the playoffs.

In Class 1A, Oliver Springs defeated Coalfield 20 to 13. Oliver Springs advances to the semifinals to host South Pittsburg this Friday night (November 24, 2023)

In Class 2A, York Institute remains undefeated winning over Hampton 56 to 13. York Institute will host East Robertson in the semifinals this Friday night (November 24, 2023).

In Class 3A, Giles County defeated Meigs County 35 to 14.

In Class 4A, Greeneville won over Anderson County 28 to 17 and Upperman defeated Macon County 17 to 14. Upperman will play Greeneville in the semifinals this Friday night (November 24, 2023).

In Class 5A, Walker Valley won over Clinton 24 to 20.

In Class 6A, Bradley County defeated Bearden 35 to 14. Bradley County will play Oakland in the semifinals this Friday (November 24, 2023).
