The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for the higher elevations and Foothills of the East Tennessee Mountains from Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon. This includes Blount County and Monroe County in the 3B Media News listening area.
Southeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph possible. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Fire danger will be increased until rain arrives.
