The resurfacing of I-40 in western Cumberland County from mile marker 306 to east of Exit 311 is coming close to completion: The contractor has finished paving and the remaining work includes applying permanent pavement markings.  Lane closures will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. During those times, the speed limit will be reduced from 70 to 60 m.p.h. Officials say the project should be finished next month.
