REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ON WHO SHOT BALD EAGLE IN ROANE COUNTY

The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency says a bald eagle was shot near Watts Bar Lake in the area of Blue Springs Marina, near Kingston.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or people responsible.
Bald eagles are protected by federal law. Violating the law can carry penalties of up to $100,000 and a year in federal prison.
Anyone with information about the eagle should call the Fish and Wildlife Service at 615-736-5532 or the TWRA Region 3 Office at 931-484-9571.
Officials say the eagle is recovering.
