RHEA CO. WOMAN WHO REPORTEDLY BURNED CHILD’S FEET FACING NEW CHARGES

A Rhea County woman who was charged back in August with burning a child’s feet in boiling water is facing new charges. A grand jury has indicted 53-year-old Jennifer Vaughn on four counts of aggravated child abuse. The girl was transported to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital for treatment. The child was under the care at the time of Vaughn, the girl’s step-grandmother. Vaughn was initially charged with one count of aggravated child abuse. If convicted, Vaughn could be sentenced in a range from 15 to 80 years in prison.
