FOUND ALIVE! PETERSON SURVIVES 19 HOURS IN WOODED AREA IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

BREAKING NEWS – The near 19 hour search for a missing elderly Cumberland County man has ended with success. Around noon today, crews located 75-year-old Arthur “Pete” Peterson in an area close to where he disappeared two years ago. Medical crews are on the way to attend to Peterson and help him out of the rugged area he was found in.

Peterson went missing around 5 p.m. yesterday from his home in the Sunset Ridge area. Officials say Peterson has dementia. Crews covered the area last night aided with tracking dogs but to no success. Rescue workers not only were concerned about darkness, but near freezing temperatures that Peterson was out in.

As the sun rose this morning, more manpower was called in to help look for Peterson.

This is not the first time Peterson went missing.

Just over two years ago (Sept. 2017), Peterson walked off from his home. A helicopter and a tracking dogs were used then to help find him. Crews located him 24 hours later  in rough terrain between his property line and Scott’s Creek.
