RHEA COUNTY FIRST RESPONDERS ASSIST INJURED BOATERS ON WATTS BAR LAKE
Just before the weekend, first responders in Rhea County rushed to Watts Bar Lake following reports of an injured person aboard a pontoon boat. The Rhea County Sheriff’s Office and Rhea County Emergency Management teamed up with the Meigs County Fire Rescue and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) to manage the emergency.
Marine 1 units located the vessel and immediately initiated life-saving measures before transferring the patient to waiting medical personnel at the Watts Bar Dam boat ramp.
The investigation is currently being led by TWRA. Authorities have asked that any further questions or inquiries regarding the incident be directed to their agency.
