RHEA COUNTY FOOD TRUCK GETS FAILING HEALTH SCORE OF 61

On September 26, 2025, a routine food service establishment inspection was conducted at Foodmexa Mobile, located on Rhea County Hwy in Dayton, resulting in a score of 61.
The inspection revealed multiple critical violations, indicating a lack of control over risk factors by the Person in Charge (PIC), who was unaware of date marking requirements.
Notable issues included spoiled cilantro and strawberries, improper reheating of refried beans (corrected to 165°F during inspection), and queso cooled improperly overnight in a deep, tightly covered container. Many ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous foods lacked proper date marking, and chemicals were stored over single-service containers.
Additional violations included a non-self-closing entrance door, raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods, a spoon handle resting in ice, a stained and grooved cutting board, dirty surfaces throughout the mobile unit, no hot water at any sink, a loose faucet, and dirty floors and walls. The inspector strongly recommended food safety training for all employees, with training information emailed to the PIC.
Several violations were corrected on-site, but the facility requires thorough cleaning and improved adherence to food safety protocols.
