Last week our Sheriff’s Department K9 Track Team, Deputy Swafford, Sgt. Ritchey and Sgt. Flory had the privilege of visiting the Rhea County Middle School. SRO Hensley invited the students to get a firsthand look at the incredible work our four-legged deputies do everyday. The team was able to put on a demonstration showing how the K9s track scents to locate suspects, assist in the recovery of narcotics and how they help keep our community safe. The students got to meet K9 Dona, K9 Blondie and K9 Lycan and was able to learn about the important bond between the K9s and their handlers. We are proud to share our mission of service, safety and teamwork with the next generation. Sheriff Mike Neal would like to say thank you to the staff and students.
