RHEA COUNTY MAN STEALS MULTIPLE VEHICLES DURING HIGH-SPEED CHASE

More information has been released on Saturday’s high-speed chase which took place in Rhea County. According to Sheriff Mike Neal, Kendall O’Neil Speegle is suspected of burglary, along with stealing four cars. Deputies were called to Bob Long Road around 12:30 PM for a suspected burglar on the scene. As they arrived, officers saw a white Chevy pickup drive through a closed garage door. The chase then started and proceeded through Meigs and Hamilton Counties. Speegle afterward pulled behind a home on Blythe’s Ferry Lane and left the vehicle on foot, reportedly carrying a rifle. He was able to steal a blue Jeep in the area, eventually leaving it parked in the road. It’s said that he then traveled on foot to Knimbrough Road, where he stole a blue truck. While driving that vehicle, authorities said he lost control and crashed on Elder Hollow Road. An attempt to steal an ATV by gunpoint was unsuccessful for Speegle, who again stole a Chevy Cruze later. While in the Cruze, Speegle sideswiped a truck and ended up driving the Chevy into the Tennessee River. He’s charged with several counts of burglary, reckless endangerment and reckless driving among other charges.
