The Rhea County Sheriff’s Office says citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming to be with the Rhea County Sheriff Department Civil Citation Unit.

The callers state that a warrant will be issued for their arrest if they don’t pay a certain amount to cover the citation.

Please be assured that the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department would never conduct business like this. These are scam calls. These types of scam calls are popular in the area.
