RHEA COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH TENNCARE FRAUD
A Rhea County woman has been charged in Hamilton County with doctor shopping for prescription drugs, using TennCare as payment for the pills. Doctor shopping is the crime of using TennCare to visit multiple doctors in a short period of time to obtain prescription drugs. 29-year-old Charity Marie Ellis, also known as Charity Flerl, of Spring City, faces charges of doctor shopping for the painkillers Hydrocodone, Torodol and Tramadol, using TennCare as payment. She has been charged with five counts of TennCare fraud by doctor shopping. District Attorney General Neal Pinkston is prosecuting.
