While on patrol Tuesday, a Crossville police officer observed an operator of a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja accelerate rapidly then stopped abruptly at the red light at Main and Genesis Road. As the patrolman pulled up behind him, 18-year-old Mitchell Kyler Richardson of Crossville reportedly accelerated fast and popped a wheelie. Richardson pulled away from the officer at speeds supposedly of 60 miles an hour in a 30 zone. He later stopped on Main Street and was charged with reckless driving.
