ROAD CONDITIONS/ BUSINESS CLOSINGS/DELAYS – FEBRUARY 18, 2021

ROAD CONDITIONS
After several accidents took place earlier from snow and ice, MAJOR roads are o.k. this morning with patches of slush, especially bridges, overpasses, and exit ramps.
Secondary roads are slushy to snow covered and very icy, especially in areas that saw freezing rain and drizzle at the end of the snow. Two to four inches of snow fell overnight across the Upper Cumberland with three inches most common.
Areas of concern as of 8:20 a.m. central include:
Highway 70 North in the area of Cumberland Cove
Highway 70 East from Peavine Road to Highland Lane and from Crab orchard to past Ozone
Highway 68 in several areas from the 127 split to Cox Valley
Genesis Road from Ralph Adams Road to Redmond Lane
Dunbar Road – south of Lake Tansi
Westel Road – from I-40 to Highway 70 East
Lantana Road – from Vandever Road outbound to Bledsoe County line
If you have to travel this morning, use extreme caution and take your time. Melting should take place later today but will refreeze after nightfall.
