Established in 2001, the Roane Alliance is still making its presence known. Its 2018 Annual Report will be released Wednesday, detailing not only the impact made in 2018, but also showing how each of the staff and the Alliance work as a team.

The Alliance serves as the umbrella over the Industrial Development Board, Visitors Bureau and the Roane County Chamber of Commerce. It also serves as the marketing organization for Roane County.

Roane County:

• Was spotlighted on Fox 43’s Knoxville Weekend television show, in Ohio Magazine and a full-page editorial in Travel South Magazine.
• Enjoys its lowest unemployment rate since 2004 – coming within a tenth of a percentage point of the national average.
• Saw a record 143 graduates become Tennessee Scholars.
• Earned the Seal of Approval from the American Association of Retirement Communities.
• Welcomed visitors who spent $2.33M more in 2018 than 2017, totaling close to $70M.
• Saw an increase of 383 jobs in industries, and one of the largest net job growths in more than a decade
