The Roane County Commission meeting in regular session last Monday
approved two resolutions that commit around $1.5 million of American
Rescue Plan money for broadband expansion in several areas in the
the county that are not privy to high-speed internet access
One area is in East Roane County where Commissioner Mike Hooks
represents and lives. He said this is a very important step in making the
area more productive

One of the resolutions earmarks $930,000 for Comcast to use and the other
earmarks $555,300 for Twin Lakes to use.
