The Roane County Sheriff’s Department is investigating possible threats made toward Roane County High School. Officers say the investigation is ongoing and they cannot comment at this time of the nature of the possible threat. The sheriff’s department is working with the attorney general, Kingston Police Department and school resource officer to make sure the complaint is handled swiftly and there is no disruption in the school. The Roane County Sheriff’s Department says there will be law-enforcement presence at the schools starting tomorrow (Monday, May 7, 2018) to ensure safety.

UPDATE: Two juveniles are now in custody for the alleged threats. They are in custody pending a detention hearing this afternoon (Monday, May 7, 2018)
