The Roane County Commission will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the Kingston Courthouse. The budget for the next fiscal year has been passed, leaving few major items on the agenda.

The public is welcome to address the commission at the start of the meeting, subject to new rules: a 3-minute time limit per speaker, one representative for groups, no personal attacks on commissioners, and comments must focus on county business within the commissioners’ authority.

Litigation matters cannot be discussed unless listed on the agenda, and even then, discussion is restricted. These rules were established at last month’s meeting.
