ROANE COUNTY COMMISSION TO CONSIDER PROACTIVE DATA CENTER REGULATIONS AT MONDAY MEETING
The Roane County Commission is set to tackle the growing trend of data center development ahead of the curve during its regular monthly meeting this Monday.
The meeting, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Roane County Courthouse in Kingston, will feature a discussion and potential action regarding the regulation of data centers within the county.
While no technology companies have officially approached Roane County to build a facility, County Executive Wade Creswell emphasized the need to be forward-thinking. The move comes in response to the massive influx of data centers—and the accompanying public debate—surrounding communities across Tennessee.
“Officials want to be proactive because of the attention data centers have received across Tennessee and surrounding communities,” Creswell noted.
