Firefighters in Roane County responded last night to a home at 328 Smalley Lane for a vehicle fire close to the residence. Crews arrived to see the fire had spread to the house and called for more assistance. Midtown and East Roane Volunteer Fire Departments responded. The fire caused substantial damage to the dwelling. No injuries were reported. This is the second Roane County residence fire in a couple of days since  Christmas that has left several without a home.
