ROANE COUNTY LAWSUIT BY ROCKY JOE HOUSTON DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE
A lawsuit filed by Rocky Joe Houston against Roane County government, Sheriff, County Executive, several Sheriff’s Office staff, Commission Chairman Shannon Hester, and County Attorney Greg Leffew has been dismissed with prejudice.
Houston had repeatedly attended county commission meetings from March through July, distributing documents alleging that county officials violated his civil rights by acquiring property in South Roane County that he claimed was illegally sold by his late former attorney, Jim Logan, to cover unpaid legal fees from Houston’s previous murder case.
On October 27, Attorney Leffew notified all defendants that the case was officially dismissed, meaning Houston cannot refile or appeal the ruling and is responsible for approximately $325 in court costs. Further updates will follow as details emerge.
