ROANE COUNTY LEADERS HONORED WITH TENNESSEE GOVERNOR’S VOLUNTEER STAR AWARDS

The Roane County Anti-Drug Coalition recently attended an event in Franklin, Tennessee, to celebrate two exceptional local leaders who received the Tennessee Governor’s Volunteer Star Awards. The youth honoree is Lorelai Langley, a student at Midway High School, who has been actively involved with the RCADC for more than three years.
She also serves as a TNSTRONG Ambassador through the Roane County Health Department and has demonstrated dedicated leadership as a youth stakeholder in both her school and broader community. The coalition expressed great pride in her exemplary kindness and contributions.
The adult award recipient is Lieutenant Maretta McNichol of the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, recognized for her extensive volunteer efforts, including leading jail ministries, coordinating inmate rehabilitation projects, mentoring former inmates, preparing overdose awareness materials, and serving on the Roane County Opioid Abatement Council. She also volunteers with the RCADC and is participating in the Leadership Roane County program.
The coalition highlighted her compassion and the lasting positive impact she is making, extending congratulations to both recipients for this prestigious state-level recognition.
