A Roane County man has been charged after he allegedly tried to solicit pictures from several children on a social media app.

According to court documents, authorities received a referral from the FBI in Oxford, Mississippi, about a 14-year-old girl being solicited for pictures by 18-year-old Conner Nelson of Kingston in August 2025. Law enforcement in Mississippi searched Nelson’s Snapchat account and found messages with several other children, including a 14-year-old girl in Oklahoma and an eight-year-old girl in Washington, court documents said. Police said Nelson was interviewed and admitted to owning the account. Nelson was charged with especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. He appeared in court Tuesday morning.
