The Roane County Sheriff’s Department was called to Myrtle Ward Road in South Roane County Monday night around 9:30 after a subject barricaded himself in a home and allegedly assaulted a female.  Craig Dean Adkins, age 34,  was taken into custody around 11 PM after complying with officers’ demands to come out of the house after being inside for over an hour and a half.

A female inside allegedly was assaulted but not seriously injured enough to go to the hospital by ambulance. Craig Dean Adkins remains in jail in Roane County facing several counts including two counts of attempted second-degree murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and three counts of reckless endangerment involving weapon.

His bonds totaled nearly $180,000. He is scheduled to be in court on June 21st.
