A Roane County motorist has passed away from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident this week. Trooper Nathaniel Crow says a 2013 Toyota RAV4 driven by Thomas C. Ellis, Jr. of Rockwood was traveling east near the 342 mile marker when he left the road. The car struck an earth embankment and rotated 180 degrees. Ellis was transported to an area hospital and later died.
