ROANE COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH INTRODUCING DRUGS INTO A PENAL INSTITUTION
Yesterday morning, Roane County deputies were searching a holding cell in the Roane County Detention Center when they found a plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be heroin, about half the size of a golf ball. Video surveillance showed 35-year-old Jessica Renee Butcher placing the baggie beneath a mat just before 7:30.
Butcher, who had been charged with violation of the motor-vehicle light law, tampering with or fabricating evidence, driving on a revoked or suspended license, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of a controlled substance and manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth, is also being charged with introduction of drugs into a penal institution.
