ROANE COUNTY WOMAN ENTERS GUILTY PLEA FOR SHOOTING AT SEX OFFENDER

A guilty plea was entered in Roane County court by a woman charged with shooting at a sex offender. Linda Ada Flanagan, age 59, faced attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment for discharging a firearm at Kent Booher earlier this year in Rockwood. A deal was reached for Flanagan to plead guilty to aggravated assault with a weapon with all other charges dismissed. Flanagan was sentenced to six years in prison however all but 90 days of that sentenced was suspended. She will serve the 90 days in the Roane County jail. Booher pleaded guilty to two counts of statutory rape in Loudon County five years ago. Two days after the shooting, Booher was arrested for violating the sexual offender registry and solicitation of aggravated statutory rape.
