ROANE FIREFIGHTERS HANDLE TWO FIRES WITH NO INJURIES
Firefighters in Rockwood and Kingston successfully handled two separate, injury-free incidents this morning. The Rockwood Fire Department initially responded to a reported stove fire at the downtown apartments on West Rockwood Street, where Fire Chief Matt Crabtree noted that crews found no active fire, reporting only a light haze of smoke and the smell of heat in the kitchen.
Shortly after, around 10 a.m., the Kingston Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle fire involving a semi-truck tractor at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Fossil Plant. According to Fire Chief Willie Gordon, TVA fire crews had already begun battling the flames before Kingston firefighters arrived to finish extinguishing the blaze, which resulted in no injuries and was safely brought under control.
