ROANE MEDICAL CENTER ISSUES STATEMENT ON PATIENT CARE AVALABILITY

We posted last week that Roane Medical Center was on ‘critical patient off-load status”.   The original ‘alert’ information came from U.T. Medical Center and was intended for area ambulance services advising there was an unusually high volume of ambulance calls in Roane County at that time. The alert was not issued by Roane Medical Center.  We reached out to Roane Medical Center for information on their current patient care availability status and they responded with this statement.

“Roane Medical Center is open as usual to provide safe care to our patients and communities. Emergency departments at hospitals throughout our area are currently very busy. Wait times will vary depending on the urgency of patients’ medical needs so that those with the most serious or life-threatening conditions can receive prompt care. Those who need emergency care, especially for serious injuries or conditions such as a heart attack or stroke, should not hesitate to come to the hospital.

If you have questions about hospital COVID-19 patient volumes or trends, please see our daily dashboards that are updated daily and posted to Covenant Health.com and Roane Medical Center’s Facebook page.”
