Born on March 24, 1954, as the youngest son of legendary actor John Carradine, he came from a prominent acting family that included brothers David and Keith Carradine.
Carradine began his career with a debut in the 1972 Western The Cowboys alongside John Wayne and built a long Hollywood presence across movies, independent films, and television. He gained widespread fame as the earnest fraternity leader Lewis Skolnick in the 1984 comedy Revenge of the Nerds, a role that spawned sequels, and later endeared himself to a new generation as the affable father Sam McGuire in Lizzie McGuire.
