ROBERT FOX II, WANTED IN CROSSVILLE ARSON INVESTIGATION, ARRESTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Cumberland County man wanted in connection with a February arson investigation is now in custody after being served with multiple outstanding warrants over the weekend.

Robert Dexter Fox II, 32, was taken into custody on July 11 at approximately 4:45 p.m. at the Cumberland County Justice Center. Corporal Jacob Brink of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office served Fox with three outstanding warrants while he was in jail custody, including one for arson and two counts of failure to appear.

The charges stem from an investigation launched in early March by special agent fire investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). Investigators began looking into the case following an anonymous tip regarding a fire that took place on February 27 in the 100 block of Tennessee Stone Road.

Evidence presented to a Cumberland County Grand Jury led to an indictment against Fox for one count of arson. Fox had remained at large since the indictment in June, prompting the TBI to issue a public appeal for information regarding his whereabouts.

Fox, a local mechanic, faces the following charges:

  • Arson (Personal Property or Real Estate)

  • Failure to Appear (2 counts)

He is scheduled for court appearances in Cumberland County.

All charges and allegations are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
