ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL APPROVES SALE OF FORMER FIRE STATION NO. 2
Rockwood City Council members Monday approved the higher of two bids from a proposal to buy the long-closed Fire Station No. 2 property on South Kingston Avenue. The City Council accepted a bid of $8,400 from Daryl Hutchcraft. The old station was closed three years ago due to mold and mildew issues and seeping of water into the building’s back portion. The city recently opened a new fire hall No. 2 on North Kingston Avenue, just beyond the United Methodist Church on property they purchased from TVA. Only two bids were submitted for the purchase of the former fire station.
