ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The Rockwood City Council met Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. Under old business, the council approved the sale of a portion of city-owned property at 116 North Church Avenue, previously used as the Water Department office and garage facility. They also approved an ordinance addressing employee overtime computation and another amending the city’s zoning map to define planned unit development.
Under new business, the council passed an ordinance repealing and revising a section of the Rockwood Municipal Code. They approved a resolution authorizing the city attorney to file a lawsuit regarding property at 608 North Chamberlain Avenue, a resolution to transfer an undeveloped portion of Rockwood Street, and appointed Harold Ishman to the Health and Education Board.
Additionally, a resolution was approved allowing the city recorder to accept property tax payments before October 1st. After the meeting, a scuffle between a former Street Department employee and the Street Superintendent required intervention by the Police Chief. Police were later called to City Hall to take statements from both parties involved.
