ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL TO HOLD BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING TONIGHT
The Rockwood City Council and city staff are scheduled to meet this evening, Monday, June 22, for a packed session focused on finalizing the upcoming fiscal year budget, opening community bids, and voting on several city appointments.
The evening will proceed in three distinct phases at City Hall:

5:30 PM: The council will convene early to finalize the proposed budget.

5:45 PM: A formal public hearing on the budget will take place.

6:00 PM: The official City Council meeting will begin.
Residents who wish to address the council may do so during the designated public comment period by notifying the Mayor prior to speaking.
Tonight’s agenda features a mix of crucial infrastructure decisions, board appointments, and routine city business:

The Annual Budget: Under Old Business, the council will conduct a public hearing and second reading for an ordinance adopting the annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026.

Paving Bids & Property: The Mayor is slated to open paving bids for the Community Center’s lower parking lot to consider approving the lowest bidder. Additionally, a resolution will be considered to transfer an undeveloped portion of Adams Street to Kelsey Creek Rentals, LLC.

Personnel & K-9 Retirement: In a notable agenda item, the council will vote on a resolution to officially transfer ownership of Police K-9 Dexter to his former handler, Officer Charles P. Haubrich. The city also looks to approve the hiring of a full-time Public Works equipment operator and a full-time firefighter.
